This was the initial step to produce a 2D surface by using a series of strings streched along a frame. I made a frame which has properties of surface. I made relations in terms of frequencyi, correlationsi directions and angles of lines. There is a core and also there are there parts. Each part has different frequency and shapes and all of them connect each other. With this way, each part had interrelations with each other.
We anaysed the field (kayaköy) and prepared 25 sheets diagram in terms of spatial relationshipsi texture, shade and shadow, height, light, wind, position of structures. At the bottom there are some of the diagrams. Then, we drew a final diagram that include all of them. I used different colur when drawing because some colour refer the similar characteristical qualities of the field. Also frequent lines refer frequency of structures. There are two red place. these are structures which have different qualities from the field. Their size and height are different.
Our first models are ready…..This was too hard to provide durability because of the cartridge paper, but we completed to this process successfully…
After designed the diagram, we produced a model which includes 3 dimentional medium of volumetric relations. We were expected to comprise and develop on all diverge spatial experiences analysed and studiedin our diagrams. We acquired our models through Folded Planes out of a single cartridge paper. (50*70cm)
I focud on the spatial relationships so i acquired 2 words from my diagram and I tried to apply on it. Overlap and Intersection are my main design ideas for it. I chose to these words due to the fact that they have a difference and I wanted to anayse and show to this difference on the model.
Firstly, I want to mention about intersection spaces. I do not think that whem two things intersect each other, occur intersection. Intersection can be in common spaces. When some different pieces bring together ,create a common volume. This is a intersection principle for my model. Some small pieces have a relationship each other and also small pieces have a relation with central big pieces.
Another part is overlapping spaces between intersection spaces. Overlapping spaes bring together with different size and extent with tihs way i gained to create variation between overlapping parts. Also i applied some similar overlapping strategy in some parts.Different spaces bring together and create volumetric relation each other.
The basic color chords based on the color wheel. I prefered to use square color scheme for the b&w photograph. The square color scheme is similar to the rectangle, but with all four colors spaced evenly around the color circle. The square color scheme works best if you let one color be dominant.I also paid attention to the balance between warm and cool colors in my design. We are expected to apply colour on the black and white image given to us. The exercises enables emphasising certain spatial qualities discovered by us. with the color qualities, we show the layers in the image easliy. In doing that we are expected to introduce a colour palette inreference to a colour scheme developed through our knowledge on colour theory; colour perception, interaction and harmony. The visual content and quality of the given image should remain visible.
We started new term, projects, drawings, sleepless nights…etc. without lose of time. :)) In this term, our first assignment was “The Text”. we were given a book named Alice in wonderland to read. Then, We prepared a diagram included minimum 3 scenes or parts and interpreted in these scenes diverse experiences of space.. In my diagram i focused on the conversations, and location between objects and subjects. Sometimes they are close each other and sometimes exact opposite. When we consider all of the these things,thet had a relation with each other and occurs spatial relationships.
I used lines and keywords and emphasized the intersection and overlapping in my diagram.
